We started shopping even before all the tables were set up for sewing. Kathleen’s sister, Gail, was de-stashing (is that even a word?) and brought us lots of lovely fabrics and patterns to shop from. Some were in bundles – someone scored a matching jelly roll and charm pack while another came away with a lovely bundle of indigo blue fabrics. There will be a collection of patterns from this table added to the Community Quilt donation pile, as well as more new magazines generously donated (again) by Donna Haacke.
Sandra J had a bit of trouble getting going. She was ready to sew and realized she hadn’t powered her machine on. Then she had an issue with forgetting to thread her needle. It went better after those minor concerns were taken care of!
Saturday’s Magic 9-Patch was a huge hit and there were lots of folks working on them. It was advertised as “magical” and it certainly was that. Of course Barb M already has two tops made – will someone please teach us her magic!
The Tuesday Sandwich Board
Kathy P had her lovely blue bargello strips packed up before I got a photo. She says she’ll be working on it for a long time so, hopefully, I’ll get another chance. If I’ve mislabeled some of the photos it will be a lesson to me NOT to wait a day to write the post.
