There was a line up at the door this morning as we waited for someone to let us in! I guess we were all anxious to get started. It was lovely to have Susan join us for lunch and some afternoon stitching. Georgie popped in with some community quilts, as did Sheryl. Patti and Betty were with us for awhile before heading off to curling, and I think I saw Margie and Donna in the hall. The Prez (Kathleen) is away but The Boss (Barb M) was back.
The community quilt weekend went very well. There were over 30 quilts in some state of readiness – some finished, some tops done, and lots of sandwiching (thanks to Georgie, Myrt and Darlene). Please check with Darlene for your personal gift – a sandwich ready for quilting! While we stitched on Saturday Georgie regaled us with stories of her nursing career and her surprise retirement party.
At lunch Barb K was explaining the health ordeals she has overcome in the past couple of years. As she explained some of the surgery we thought for a minute we had a new sewing tool but apparently the duodenum serves a completely different purpose. She brought us to tears with her tale of her Mum’s spirit visiting her at her lowest point. We’re glad all the latest health news is positive.
