We celebrated April birthdays today; no one in the hall happened to have a birthday in April but Annie brought in a wonderful cake. She says it was heart-healthy, but it certainly didn’t taste like it – oranges, pineapples, applesauce, cool whip! Did we spoil all that healthy goodness by adding ice cream. I don’t think so!
There were a couple of vaguely familiar faces in the hall today, ones we haven’t seen for a long time. Sandy T joined us for some hand sewing and Kathy P was back with a box of scrappy squares. Marianna got a big round of applause when she made her appearance; although not completely healed she is looking good.
Margaret says she is working on a gold-medal project, while Gail’s grandson just won a gold medal in judo in the Provincial Championships. We all admired the article on quilting in the newest Powell River Living; Kathleen was less than pleased to see they published the ages of the quilters in the photo!
There were a few quilt show items still in progress today but for the most part everyone has moved on to new projects. We’re all looking forward to the weekend; if you haven’t signed up for any jobs yet the sheets will be at the meeting on Thursday.
