We had a good turnout at the bee today; lots of preparations underway for the quilt show. The deadline for entry forms (and photographs) is creeping up very quickly. We were so happy that Barb K. was able to join us today with some hand work. We hope to see her again very soon. Kathleen is still nursing a sore back but dropped in for lunch. And did I see Betty pop in and out?
Bringing items across the border was the main lunch topic today. The biggest “sneakers” were carloads of women bringing fabric home; if the border guard asks the question of only one of the quilters, the rest of the car don’t feel obliged to chime in and add their purchases to the total. And someone even managed a couple of poppy plants rolled up inside a cutting board; the poppies weren’t found but they died during the transplant!
It was a stormy day and Angel said the trip over from Texada was a bit rough. Barb M had her bag packed for almost anything. After a pedicure she was wearing flip-flops so had shoes and socks in her bag. She also carries a clean set of underwear in her bag “just in case”!
