The clubhouse was packed today; there were several quilters present who, by their own admission, would have been out in the garden had the sun of yesterday not turned to rain overnight. If you can’t be out in the garden the next best thing is to talk gardening; discussions around pruning, raspberries and general planting could be heard.
Darlene gave us the best tip of all. Did you know you can start rose bushes from the long stem roses you get in your bouquets (if you are lucky enough to get a bouquet let alone one with long stem roses in it)? When the flower is gone, clip off the end of the stem, dip it in honey and put in water on your windowsill. When roots appear it can be planted in your garden.
