After travelling for a couple of weeks it was good to be back at the sewing bee. We missed many of our fellow quilters over the summer but we were happy to have them back this week – Penny, Edie, Cathie and it was lovely to see Marianna back at her sewing table. We were happy to have Barb’s sister Trudie joining us – I wonder if they have another world cruise planned and if they’ll take me along! Antoinette was sharing her time between sewing and leading the choir next door – she says after 32 years there is no way she can change the choir day so she can sew all day.
It seems everyone enjoyed their trip to Quadra for Hands Across the Water. Antoinette was the lucky winner of 13 of the challenge blocks and Margaret won a door prize. With the dust hardly settled from that event, several of the ladies met today to start planning our event in 2016.
When the question arose as to whether or not we’d be having a pot luck next week there was a resounding “NO”. But we all agreed cake would be good so Penny is going to provide one for us – and we all suggested her famous pumpkin cake would be in the spirit of the season.
