Teach a man to fish

It was a hive of activity at the bee today; Annie said she could here us buzzing before she got to the door. It was lovely to see some finished tops that have been in the works for a few weeks (and yes Barb, some in progress for only a week). Sandra already has the squares she won at the Pot Luck sewn into a quilt top; we gave Nina a hard time for sandwiching two quilts, neither of which were from the stars she won at the party.

You’ve probably heard this Chinese Proverb before:

“Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Here is Sharon’s take on this adage:

“Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and he will be gone all weekend.”

Even though next Tuesday is July 1st (and a holiday) there will be a number of eager stitchers at their machine at the Senior Centre. We will be sewing all summer at the hall as the Soup and Sandwich luncheons are on their summer hiatus.
