There was a good turnout for the first day of our Community Quilts weekend. What a treat for those of us who were sewing to have someone available for cutting and pressing. The backing and batting ladies (not to be mistaken as the batty ladies) were kept busy matching backing fabrics to the beautiful flimsies, and then cutting and sandwiching the quilts. If you weren’t able to join us today you can do your part by taking one of the quilts home for quilting.
Although we worked hard, we had a great time doing it. Thanks to Eleanor and Kathleen we had sweets to get us through the day. And did you know that tonic water will prevent leg cramps and Charlie Horses? Some of us (no names mentioned) wondered if the vodka and gin we add would take away the medicinal effect. We (again no names mentioned) decided it would not!
We’ll be back at the Centre tomorrow so join us if you can. Thanks to Margie for the photographs.
