I’m home from another wonderful day of sewing; Tuesdays are better and better every week. Not a big rush for sandwiching tables today and it looked like a lot of new projects were starting. As I pulled into the parking lot, Darlene was unloading this stack of Community Quilts from her vehicle.
Annie arrived today just after 10:30 this morning. When the applause had died down she suggested she felt somewhat obliged to dance a jig! We tease her but are oh-so-glad she joins us for whatever bit of time she has.
Sandra mentioned that an older friend is looking to make a move from Vancouver to Powell River. We discussed some of the pros and cons about renting versus buying. When Marlene asked how old this fellow was, we had fun teasing her about looking to add a single gentleman to their social club! She, of course, was simply wondering if he was old enough to qualify for their senior’s-only community as there is a modular home available for purchase at Blue Mountain Estates.
This led us to a discussion of age and a question of who was older – Annie or Marlene. I’m not giving away any secrets, but Rene brought up bits of a quote that she remembered about age. None of us had heard it before so I looked it up on the internet when I got home. I didn’t find the full quote she mentioned, but I found something similar. So the next time someone asks your age, and you don’t want to tell them, respond with “I’m as old as my tongue, but younger than my teeth”.
The latest Powell River Living has a nice article about the Timberlane Quilt Guild and the Tuesday sewing bee. This is great publicity for us as we get closer to the Quilt Show.
I want to be sure that everyone remembers to pass their quilting inches to Nina either by e-mail or at the meeting on Thursday. I know I’ve been so busy completing things for the Quilt Show that I forgot to send her some of mine.
Next Tuesday is the Soup and Sandwich lunch at the Senior Center so we won’t be stitching. The Blue Mountain ladies are at the clubhouse though.
