The Sat Garment workshop was cancelled on Sat as the Texada ferry did not run. The second day of the class on sunday went ahead and now teacher and students will be gathering to construct their garments on several tues mornings .The colours that I saw today were all soft pastels and spring colours. Cheery and bright……..look for a fashion show soon.
We had great help again today with the batik and cream raffle quilt. With a little experimentation, we decided to open the seams on the patchwork units. It takes a little more time at the iron board, but the effects were worth it with all the blocks turning out beautifully.
We will continue to work on this for most of March before starting the 2nd prize lap quilt. We are asking all guild members to donate 2 strips of fabric for this quilt. It is a jelly roll style pattern , so we would appreciate a strip of cream or beige and a strip of fall print, tone on tone or solid. If you don’t have full selvadge to selvedge strips, any length will do.
Samples of the 2 raffle projects will be seen at the next business meeting.
Oh Yes! almost forgot…. DON”T FORGET YOUR COOKIE TINS FOR THEIR OWNERS.
