Block Of Month December 2010

Kathy has chosen a nice easy block as we are all so busy with the holidays. I would have had it easily completed in an hour if I hadn’t started to assembly the wrong colour squares on the incorrect side of the flying geese. Check out the website for a colour copy and make sure you read and see both pages.
Caution!! Check the diagram and make sure that the gold square is sewn onto the right hand side of the flying geese – then ALL of the pinwheels will spin in the same direction!!

To get accurate piecing , use fine weight sewing thread and a scant 1/4 inch seam.

After constructing the flying geese unit – MEASURE!! it must be 3.5X6.5 inches

After sewing the rectangle to the flying geese unit- MEASURE!! it must be 6.5X6.5 inches

After sewing the 4 units together-MEASURE!! it must be 12.5 inches
